В поле, вверху скошенном слева серебром и лазурью, а внизу лазоревом - золотой алеутский охотник в шапке с длинным козырьком, с сумкой через левое плечо, сидящий в каяке (алеутской лодке) с червленой полосой по краю, правой рукой заносящий в броске таковой же метательной дощечкой трехконечный с серебряными остриями золотой гарпун, положенный поверх деления, а левой рукой держащий двойное золотое весло и сопровождаемый вверху, в серебре, лазоревой восьмилучевой звездой с укороченными косвенными лучами, а внизу - золотым лежащим тюленем.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 1, 2008.

The region consists of a few small islands of the Aleutan Archipelago. The arms show a local in a traditional kayak. The seal in the base refers to the rich animal life in the local sea, as well as to the traditional seal hunting of the local people. The islands are in the Bering Street and the explorer Vitus Bering is buried on Bering Island in the district. The star refers to a compass rose and is a symbol for the explorers and travellers in the reagion.

The silver refers to the snow (from November-April) and the common fog in the region. The blue refers to the sea.
