Arms (crest) of Alsėdžiai

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 25, 2003.

The crosier refers to the fact that Alsėdžiai was the summer residence of the bishops of Samogitia for almost 400 years. Also it symbolizes the spiritual values of local people. The green field symbolizes both hope and beauty of local nature.

The grape vines refer to the former viticulture.
