Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 15, 1984.

The upper part shows symbols as a reference to the local airport. The bridge is a symbol for the many historical buildings and monuments, and thus for the long history of the town. The pomegranate tree refers to the rapid growth and development of the town.
