Ecartelé : au 1 d'or à la statue du Sacré Coeur de gueules, nimbée du champ, posée sur une terrasse de sinople; au 2 de gueules au petit-séminaire de Montlieu d'argent, posé sur une colline de sinople, à l'étoile rayonnante d'or, placée au canton dextre du chef; au 3 de gueules au navire d'or, gréé d'argent, sur une mer du même; au 4 d'azur à la Vierge-Reine sur un trône de justice, le tout d'argent.
Origin/meaning
The first quarter shows a statue of the Holy Heart. The second shows the image of the seminary of Montlieu, where the bishop studied. The third shows the arms of La Rochelle, where he was born and the fourth the image of the statue of St. Mary in Le Puy-en-Velay
