German Geviert; Feld 1: in Silber ein auf roter Zinnenmauer linkshin schreitender schwarzer Bär; Feld 2: in Gold ein rot bewehrter, dreizehiger, schwarzer Löwe mit ausgeschlagener Zunge; Feld 3: in Silber drei rote Seeblätter (2:1); Feld 4: in Rot eine wachsende silberne Palme mit Früchten.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 31, 2007.

The arms are a combination of the arms of the former districts. The first quarter is the historical arms of Anhalt and was part of the arms of Anhalt-Zerbst. The black lion and the three leaves are both taken from the arms of the Bitterfeld district. The palm tree is taken from the arms of Köthen district.
