Established : 1772 as Diocese of Mohilev by Empress Catherine the Great of Russia, she elevated the Diocese<br>

to a non metropolitan Archdiocese in 1782. Pope Pius VI recognized this action in 1783 in the Bull Onerosa pastoralis officii.<br>
In 1798 territory was lost to create the Diocese of Minsk, and Mohilev was raised to a Metropolitan Archdiocese.<br>
Suppressed in 1991 and merged with the Diocese of Minsk to from the Archdiocese of Minsk-Mohilev.
