Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 17, 1991.

This association was established as the co-ordinating body for Coloured local authorities in the Orange Free State. Both the embattled partition of the shield and the mural crown are obvious allusions to the Association's function. The flower depicted, of which there is a single blossom in the shield and a full spike issuant from the mural crown, is an Orange River Lily, the provincial flower of the Orange Free State.
