Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on ??-??-2002.

The owl in the first quarter is a canting symbol of the Goddess Athene and thus a canting symbol for the name Athenstedt. The beech leaves are a symbol for the forests in the municipality, whereas the garb stands for agriculture. The colours are those of the Halberstadt diocese and principality, to which the village belonged until 1815.
