The oldest known seal of Bühlertal dates from the early 19<sup>th</sup> century and shows the arms of [[Baden (State)|Baden]]. From the middle of the 19<sup>th</sup> century, a new seal was used, which showed in a crowned shield the letters BT.

In July 1895 the council asked for new arms and the State Archives proposed the old arms of the Windeck family, who ruled for many centuries in the area. To distinguish the arms of the municipality, an escutcheon with the letter B was proposed. The council approved these arms in November 1895 and are still in use.
