Un scut triunghiular cu marginile rotunjite, tăiat de un brâu undat albastru, despicat în partea superioară. În partea superioară, în dreapta, în câmp albastru, se află un masiv muntos de argint și o floare-de-colț de aur. În partea superioară, în stânga, în câmp auriu, se află o gură de mină crenelată neagră, încărcată cu două ciocane de minerit negre încrucișate. În partea inferioară, în câmp argintiu, se află un brad verde. Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint cu trei turnuri crenelate.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 4, 2015.

The mountain represents Piatra Unică, a rock formation located between the Hășmașul Mic and Hășmașul Mare massifs, at the foot of which the city is located.

The Edelweiss flower symbolizes a rare species of plant, protected by law, declared a monument of nature. Mine entrance and hammers refer to one of the basic occupations of the inhabitants, mining.

The fir tree refers to the forest richness of the area and to another basic occupation of the inhabitants, wood processing.

The wavy bar refers to the Olt River, which crosses the area.

The mural crown with three crenellated towers means that the town has the status of a city.
