Geteilt; oben die bayerischen Rauten, unten in Gold drei, zwei zu eins gestellte rote heraldische Rosen mit goldenen Butzen Origin/meaningThe arms were granted in 1486 by Duke Albrecht IV of Bayern. Ever since the image appeared on the seals and official documents of the city. The upper part shows the arms of Bayern and the Wittelsbach family. The roses are supposedly derived from arms of the early medieval Counts of A(b)bach.
