Official blazon

In Blau ein nach links versetzter zweistrahliger silberner Brunnen mit silberner Wasserfontäne, im rechten oberen Eck ein goldener Schild, darin ein blaugekrönter roter Löwenrumpf.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 13, 1975.

The name Schönborn was taken from the name of Damian Hugo von Schönbron, Prince-Bishop of Speyr from 1719-1743, who built the palace in Bad Mingolsheim. It was also an appropriate name for the local Spa.

The arms reflect this, with the fountain as a symbol for the baths and spas in the town. The colours of the shield are the colours of the State of Speyr. The small shield is derived from the arms of the Von Schönborn family. The original colours were a golden lion in a blue shield.
