In goud een dubbele adelaar van sabel, gebekt, getongd en gepoot van keel, houdend in de rechterklauw een zwaard van zilver en een palmtak van sinopel, en in de linkerklauw een ketting van zilver, met aan het uiteinde een liggende duivel van natuurlijke kleur, gehoornd en gevleugeld van keel, liggend in de schildvoet. Het schild geplaatst op een conopaeum van goud en van keel, met een schacht van goud, en op twee schuingekruiste sleutels, de ene van goud, de andere van zilver.
Wapenspreuk: EVANGELII TESTIMONIUM LUCEAT in letters van sabel op een lint van zilver.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 2020.

The double eagle is taken from the arms of the village of Ronse. The sword and palm leaf are the attributes of St. Hermes, whose relics are found in the basilica. The chained devil also refers to the protection of the saint against evil.
