Origin/meaning

The beech refers to the origin of the name Beaufou (Bella Fagus, beautiful beech in Latin). The cross is present in the arms of the Vergne and Vézinière families.

The lily appears on the Pré-Sec monument in the village and is taken from the arms of the Vézinière family.

The heart with the cross evokes the cult of the Sacred Heart in Beaufou and, since 1793, is a part of the arms of Vendée region.
