Later, in 1400, the barony passed to the viscount Hug Folc de Cardona (the arms of the Cardonas are canting: three golden "cards" -thistles in Catalan- on gules). The escutcheon contains properly the municipal sign, and is canting two: Bellpuig means "beautiful hill", and that's a flory mount, embellished with a fleur-de-lis.
