Origin/meaning

The oldest seal of Bermersbach dates from the late 18th century and shows a shield with a cross and in the base a stone. The origin of these symbols is not known. In the 1830s the municipality used a new seal, with a pine tree. In 1900 the State Archives proposed to adopt the old arms again, which the council agreed upon. The new arms, in arbitrarily colours, were adopted in January 1901.
