Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1907, but have been used since the middle of the 19^th century.

The bear (Bär) is a canting symbol. The bear holds a so-called wolf's iron in its claws. This symbol is taken from the arms of the former Lords of Bernhausen, who ruled the village until the early 14^th century. The colours are the colours of Württemberg, as the village belongs since the 14^th century to Württemberg.
