Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1950 and show a plough and a water-lily.

The plough has been the symbol of the village from the 16^th century. The seals of the local court showed the plough until 1607 when the flower was added. The flower was the symbol of the terrtory of Ried, which was added to the village. The colours are taken from the arms of Bayern, as the village belonged to the Pfalz from 1461-1623. The Pfalz was a possession of the Wittelsbach family, Kings of Bayern.
