Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 26, 1982.

Bierbaum is a dialect form of Birnbaum (pear tree). The name derives from wild pear trees growing in the region, which were soon cultivated by the farmers settling there in the middle ages. The name is first mentioned in writing in the 13th century.

The pall symbolises shafts or thills as well as a road fork.
