Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 19, 1957.

The arms show St. George, the local patron saint, taken from the seal from Birkenfeld from 1787. The birch leaf is a canting element.

The red and silver colours refer to the Dioces of Würzburg, the red and gold to the Counts of Rieneck, to whom the village historically belonged.
