On a green and silver gray vertical rectangular embroidered device arched convexly at top and bottom; divided diagonally from upper right to lower left edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, the stylized head of a bobcat in black with gray eyes, whiskers, and mouth. Attached above the rectangle, a green scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed “BLUFFTON” in black. Attached below the rectangle, a green scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed “BOBCATS” in black letters. Overall dimensions 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 5/8 inches (6.67 cm) in width
Origin/meaning
Kelly green, black, and silver are the school colors. The Bobcat is the school’s mascot and is symbolic of the cadets’ dauntless courage, virtue, and merit. The school’s motto is “Excellence is the State of Mind.”
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 16 February 2007.
