BOKHOLT-HANREDDER

State : Schleswig-Holstein
District (Kreis) : Pinneberg
Amt : Amt Rantzau

Wappen von Bokholt-Hanredder

Official blazon

  • (de) In Silber ein schräglinker blauer Wellenbalken, begleitet oben von einem linksgewendeten, sitzenden roten Fuchs mit erhobener linker Tatze, unten von zwei aufrechten grünen Buchenblättern.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 29, 1982.

The arms symbolise the four settlements in the municipality; Nokholt, Hanredder, Vossloch and Offenau. The fox (Voss in the local dialect) is a canting symbol for Vossloch, a popular tourist spot. The blue bend is the Offenau river. The two beechleaves symbolise the two other villages. Bokholt means beech-wood and the -redder part of Hanredder means a small road surrounded by trees (like a hollow way).
