Official blazon

Gevierendeeld, 1 en 4 van azuur met leeuw van goud, met een smalle schuinbalk van keel bezet in het hoofd met een komeet in in de schildvoet met een rots met drie toppen van goud over alles heen; 2 en 3 van azuur met drie sterren met zes stralen van goud (wat Rodriguez is), over alles heen: van goud met leeuw van sabel gewapend en getongd van keel, met uitgeschulpte zoom van sabel (wat Rodes is) - het geheel geplaatst op een wapenmantel van keel gevoerd met hermelijn, geboord, doorvlochten en voorzien van kwasten van goud, getopt met de hertogelijke muts van het Heilige Roome Rijk.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 25, 1954.

The arms are the complete arms of the Marquises of Rode as Lords of Bottelare. The family held the estate of Bottelare for many centuries. The arms are now part of the banner in the arms of Merelbeke.
