Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on September 17, 1999.
The silver shield with black bars symbolizes the birch tree that gave the village its name; they are also the arms of the Tragin family who owned the village from 1577 to 1798.
The roses indicate that the Virgin Mary is the patron saint of the village. Each of these roses represents the principal hamlets and villages of Boulay which are Gué, Perron, Garenne, Courgalin, Galasière and La Rivière.
