BRÉE

Département : Mayenne

Blason de Brée/Arms (crest) of Brée
Official blazon
French D'or à trois fasce d'azur et au soleil brochant de l'un en l'autre; au chef d'argent chargé de trois quintefeuilles d'azur boutonnées du même.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on October 4, 1999.

The golden shield with three blue bars is taken from the arms of the family of Vassé, former lords of the village. The sun symbolizes Saints Gervais and Protais the patron saints of the parish. They are part of the ice saints, and the colouring of the sun in blue (cold) and gold (hot) symbolises this.

The chief is taken from the arms of the family of Montesson, also former lords of Brée.
