Un scut triunghiular cu marginile rotunjite, albastru, încărcat cu un chevron de argint, pe care broșează 5 stele albastre având aceeași mărime. Scutul este trimbrat de o coroană murală cu 3 turnuri, conform rangului administrativ al localității (oraș). În dreapta sus se află fațada unui templu antic cu fronton și 4 coloane, de aur. În stânga sus se află o carte deschisă, așezată în bandă, tot de aur. În partea de jos a scutului este plasat un arbore (stejar) dezrădăcinat, natural.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 5, 2007.
The significance of the elements is related to the old coat of arms of the Știrbey family, which had the estate in the area, and to the fact that Buftea is recognized as the "fortress of Romanian film", hence the presence of the silver chevron, the gold book and the stars in the Știrbey coat of arms as well as the presence of the ancient temple, symbol of the muses and place of the arts.
The oak refers to the old Codrii ai Vlăsiei estate.
