Dutch | * (1818) Van keel, beladen met het beeld van St Martin van goud. |
French | * (1847) D'azur à un St Martin, évêque, d'or. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on April 29, 1818 and again on February 16, 1847.
The arms show the local patron saint, St. Martin, in an unusual composition, as the saint is normally shown as a knight cutting his cloak for a beggar.
The original arms showed a shield of red, which was changed in 1847.
