German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

BUTTERSTADT

State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Main-Kinzig Kreis (until 1973 Hanau)
Incorporated into : 1972 Bruchköbel

Wappen von Butterstadt

Official blazon

Gold drei rote Sparren belegt mit einem schwarzen Antoniuskreuz.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 28, 1965.

The arms show the shield with the red chevrons of the former Counts of Hanau, to which the area historically belonged. The T is the Tau-cross, symbol of St. Anthony, as in medieval times the Order of the Hospital Brothers of St. Anthony has many possessions and rights in the village.
