Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 15, 2010.

The two sections of the globe represent immigration from one part of the world to another. The maple leaves indicate that the Society is a national body, while the fleur-de-lis indicates that it also serves the unique immigration system in the province of Quebec. Their placement between the two globes emphasizes the mediating role of immigration consultants.

The sun, shown in the colours of Canada, here symbolizes authority and new beginnings. The scroll refers to the Society’s role in training and accrediting immigration consultants.

Polar bears are Canadian animals famous for protecting their young, and thus represent the Society’s role in protecting the standards of the immigration profession. The wings express the idea of migration. The mountainous base alludes to the idea of overcoming challenges.

The motto PROTECTIO • HUMANITAS • ACCREDITATIO means “Protection, humanity, accreditation” and expresses the ideals and purpose of the Society.
