Origin/meaning

The blue field with the Latin cross in gold is taken from the arms of Pope St. John Paul II. The blue represents the heavenly firmament and the mantle of Our Lady. The cross is the instrument of salvation for all men and represents Jesus Christ. The letter "M" represents the Virgin Mary, the first Christian and model of the itinerary of faith. She is the patron of the Diocese of Apucarana. T

The letter "M", in the midst of the twelve stars, alludes to the Cenacle, the nascent Church. "All of them persevered unanimously in prayer, together with the women, among them Mary, the mother of Jesus ..." (Acts 1:14). This verse refers to the episcopal motto: “With Mary, Mother of Jesus”.

The flowering lily refers to the figure of Saint Joseph, the Just, protector of the Holy Family. Thus, this symbol recalls and honors the roots of the Bishop, the Oliveira and Santi, Grecco and Falcadi families, and, therefore, recalls and emphasizes the pressing and necessary valorization of the Christian Family. His ordination on St. Joseph's Day recalls the beginning of Pope Francis' Pontificate.

The symbol of the Eucharist, the Host with the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the center with three drops of the Precious Blood dripping from it, refers to the faith of Mary, of the Apostles and their successors, of the faithful people: in short, of the Church. With this symbol, the Bishop also recalls his parish of origin, Sacred Heart of Jesus, located in Botucatu, the development of his vocation, the parishes he passed through and all the brothers and sisters in the faith conquered in Christ Jesus, whom the Bishop devotes himself and consecrates his Episcopal Ministry.

The pitcher, basin and towel refer us to the feet-washing ceremony, the commandment of Love and permanent donation to the brothers.
