Arms (crest) of Chojnice

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The bull's head already appears on the oldest known seal, dating from the 13th century. The next seals also show the head. On a seal dating from the end of the 16th century there is a flower between the horns. The stars appear first as crosses in a seal dating from 1593. Not until the middle of the 19th century the stars replace the crosses. After 1945 the stars were again replaced by the rose. The origin of the head, rose and the stars is not known.
