English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms show the local castle and bridge. The bordure shows the following motto : "POR PASAR LA PUENTE NOS DIERON LA MUERTE", meaning something like "To pass this bridge we are prepared to give our lives." The motto is derived from a legend in which a group of citizens defended the bridge during a siege in one of the battles that took place around the city in medieval times.

An older version from the 1980s (?)
