Origin/meaning

The lion is that used as a supporter for the arms of His Royal Highness Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught, who served as Governor General of Canada 1911-16, and after whom Connaught Army Cadet National Summer Training Centre takes its name. It wears on its head the coronet assigned to sons of the Sovereign, and around the neck is the Duke's distinct label consisting of the cross of St. George for England and the fleurs-de-lys of France. The lion grasps a sheaf of arrows, the heraldic depiction of marksmanship alluding to the purpose of the training centre. The Motto translat4es as "Aim straight".

The badge was approved by the Canadian Heraldric authority on Jauanry 1, 2000.
