CORPS OF ROYAL ENGINEERS, BRITISH ARMY
History: formed in 1717 from the old Board of Ordnance.
Official blazon
The Royal Chyper within the Garter, the whole enclosed in a laurel wreath; above and resting upon the top of the Garter, a crown; below the Garter and resting upon the lower portion of the laurel wreath, a scroll inscribed "Royal Engineers". The Garter with motto, Royal Chyper, crown and scroll are in gilt and are raised above the laurel wreath, which is in silver plate.
