| ====Origin/meaning====
| |
| The arms were granted on November 14, 1977.
| |
| | |
| Dettenheim is the name of an old village, which was situated on the borders of the Rhine and which was often flooded. In 1812 Grand-Duke Karl of Baden moved the village to higher grounds. The village was then renamed Karlsdorf. | |
| | |
| The present municipality includes the former Dettenheim village and surroundings. The arms show a horseshoe, which is taken from the arms of both Liedolsheim and Russheim, as well as from the oldest seals of the former Dettenheim. The wavy bar is the Rhine river.
