DIERSBACH
State : Oberösterreich
District : Schärding
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 6, 1984.
The base of the arms shows a crowned snake in flames. This refers to a local legend which mentions a large treasure protected by fire and crowned snakes.
The wavy bar symbolises the -Bach part of the name (Bach=river, stream) and the sword is the symbol of St. Martin, the local patron saint.
Literature : Baumert, H.E. : Oberösterreichische Gemeindewappen, Linz, 1996.
