Arms (crest) of Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn

Official blazon

Azure, in chief a Pastoral Staff and a Sword point downwards in saltire Or, sur­mounted of a presentation of the Royal Crown proper, and in base a Pelican in her Piety also proper.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1955.

The pelican in her piety is the symbol for Christ and thus of St. Saviour's Cathedral in Goulburn. The crown and sceptres are take from the arms of the city of Canberra.
