DIOCESE OF CHIEMSEE
Denomination : Roman Catholic
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The Diocese existed 1215/1216-1808. According to the Bavarian Concordate of 1817/1818 the territory was given to the Archdioceses of München-Freising and Salzburg (the Bishop of Chiemsee had mostly resided in Salzburg). Chiemsee was recreated as a Titular Diocese in 2009.
