Denomination : Anglican

Official blazon

Azure, two Swazi battle-axes erect addorsed, handles Or, blades Argent, bound Gules.

Origin/meaning :
The arms were officially granted on April 14, 1971 by the South African Bureau of Heraldry (the diocese being part of the South African Anglican church).

The diocese was created in 1968 at the independence of Swaziland. Previously the area was under the Diocese of Zululand.

The arms showtwo Swazi battle-axes, which are traditional weapons of war, are bound back to back to form a cross, the symbol of Salvation. The colours blue, silver (white), gold and red are all found in the national flag of the Kingdom of Swaziland.
