DIPPOLDISWALDE (DW)

State : Sachsen
Incorporated into : 1994 Weisseritzkreis (2008 Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge)

Wappen von Dippoldiswalde (kreis)/Arms (crest) of Dippoldiswalde (kreis)
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

In 1948 the district adopted quartered arms, with symbols for nature (pine tree), industry (wheel), mining (crossed hammers) and agriculture (wheat). Unfortunately I have no image of these arms. The arms were used until 1952 and again in 1990 and early 1991.

The above arms were adopted in 1991 and show in the upper part two crossed trees, that symbolise the clearing of the forests in medieval times to develop the area. The base shows the miner's tools and the lion of Meissen.
