Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 25, 1972.

The arms show symbols for industry (cogwheel) and agriculture (wheat). The thorn branches refer to the origin of the name (Dorn=thorn) and are thus canting. The silver and blue colours refer to the Bavarian colours.
