Origin/meaning

The arms are impaled with the arms of the (arch)diocese. Unfortunately we have no information on the colours of the personal arms.

The personal arms are based on the arms of some (non related) British Clarke family to represent the last name of the bishop. The Greek Chi Rho, alludes to those whose lot of clerkship is bound up in Christ. The letter Chi terminates in spears, symbolizing the lance which pierced the side of Christ.
