Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 14, 1953.

The trees symbolise the geographical position of the municipality in the Bayrische Wald (Bavarian forest). The stones in the lower part symbolise the stone quarries and the stone industry in the town.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
