EIBENSBACH

State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Heilbronn
Incorporated into : 1971 Güglingen

Wappen von Eibensbach/Arms (crest) of Eibensbach
Official blazon
German

In Silber eine schwarze Armbrust.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 4, 1963.

The arms are canting, showing a kind of crossbow, known as Armbrust or Eibe. The bow already appears on the local forestry register from 1684 as a symbol for Eibensbach. Until 1619 the local council indicated that they had no seal or arms, indicating that the arms date from the 17th century.

In the 19th century the seal showed the crossbow, but in the early 20th century the bow diappeared. Only in 1930 the bow returned on the local seals. As no historical colours were kknown, black and silver were chosen in 1956, but the arms were only officially granted in 1963.
