EL PORT DE LA SELVA
Region : Catalonia
Province : Girona
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
These arms have been officially granted on 25th November 1991.
The fishing boat on the sea is a traditional element on the arms of the town, and is an allusion to the port, now an important tourist resort in northern Costa Brava. The cross above symbolizes the impressing Romanesque monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes, that stands on the rocky spurs of Cap de Creus, in this municipality.
