EL SOLERÀS

Region : Catalonia
Province : Lleida

Soleras.jpg

Official blazon

Escut carionat: d'atzur, una creu papal d'argent acostada de 2 sols d'or. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.

Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 14th September 1995.

The papal cross is the traditional sign on the arms of the village, and it's the attribute of St. Gregory, the local patron saint. The two suns at each side are a canting sign: a sun in Catalan is named "sol".
