Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on May 29, 2021.

The base and the crosier refer to the fountain of Saint Martial, reputed to cure skin diseases. The sword cutting a cloak refers to St. Martin of Tours, the local parish patron saint. The mallet refers to the water mill in the Troh river, which was a hammer mill to beat hemp for the production of textile fibres.

The wavy chief and the blue field refer to the many waterways in the municipality as well as the Troh river. The leopard in the chief is taken from the arms of the Comborn family, lords of the village since at least the 10th century.

The two chestnut leaves represent the wooded parts of the municipality and its culture still present today. It also represents the Gauliat arboretum, where this tree was honored with the title of 'remarkable tree of France'; it is also the graphic symbol of the Corrèze department.
