FĂGĂRAȘ

District/county (județ) : Brașov

Stema Făgăraș

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 11, 2010.

The fortress symbolizes the main historical monument of the area, the Făgăraș Fortress, today being the headquarters of the Făgăraș Country Museum "Valeriu Literat".

The fish is the traditional heraldic insignia of the area, attested by a seal from 1413.

The silver mural crown with 5 crenellated towers means that the locality has the rank of municipality.
