Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 2009.

The three diamonds ar etaken from the arms of the Lords of Gevertzhagen. The name Fensdorf is derived from an old Germanic word for moorland. This is symbolised by the Marsh Marigold (Caltha palustris) flower, which is a typical flower for wetlands. The key is the symbol for St. Peter and refers to the [{State of Trier]], to which the village historically belonged. The plough iron refers to the agricultural character of the municipality.
