The arms are canting, showing a river (Bach) with fish (Fisch). The silver and blue colours are those of the Saarbr&uuml;cken county and the counts of Nassau-Saarbr&uuml;cken, to whom the village historically belonged. The black and green colours symbolise the coal mining and the forests in the municipality.
